- 0:00 Carl, I really like your take on sports betting.
- 0:02 I think it's important to understand the risks associated with sports betting.
- 0:06 But I'll also say, as someone who has experienced people go into debt from sports betting.
- 0:12 Um, and someone I've personally tried sports betting before.
- 0:16 I just for me personally, I just cannot really see the the thrill in it.
- 0:22 Um maybe it's just because I mean honestly, I don't know.
- 0:26 I have tried to bet on sports and get really into it, and I just can't.
- 0:30 And it's not like I was trying to build an addiction in sports betting, but it's also like I I wanted to see what it was all about because I've heard all this stuff about it, and I see people that just literally cannot stop sports betting.
- 0:43 Um But I will say it isn't it is important to bring up this fact that people are getting addicted, and it's and it's mainly young people, and they're putting themselves into this massive debt that they cannot afford.
- 0:55 And it's just it's a scary environment to be in because I know people who sports bet on a daily basis, and it's addictive.
- 1:02 For me, it's not.
- 1:03 For others, I know it is.
- 1:05 Um, it's like any drug.
- 1:07 It can be addictive for some and not for others.
- 1:09 Um, but yeah, I think this needs to be addressed.
- 1:12 I think I think they're trying to crack down on sports betting laws in um states, but I think maybe a creative way to go about this would be um I mean, at least 18 to 21 and actually crack down on that because I know 16-year-olds in high school are consistently sports betting and losing thousands and having bookies show up to their houses.
- 1:35 So I think a policy change to where it's actually enforceable could be a good thing for this.
