  1. 0:00 So sitting here watching college football and I wanted to talk about the current state of NIL, name, image, and likeness, and kind of that's just impact on all of college sports.
  2. 0:12 I am completely on board with the idea of players just being able to get paid for you know their success and what they do in college.
  3. 0:21 I think that's completely fair.
  4. 0:22 I'm not saying take that away.
  5. 0:23 However, I think that should be more focused on their endorsement deals, branding, um, jersey sales, commercials, anything along that line is great for the player.
  6. 0:34 You know, obviously I think they deserve it.
  7. 0:36 But when schools are able to just hand a direct check, funded through the people who fund their um their NIL funds, stuff like that, where shady things can go on.
  8. 0:44 Um, I think that's dangerous for college sport, all of college sports, not just football.
  9. 0:47 And especially how that's has its own sub-impact on the transfer portal.
  10. 0:52 I think it's it's harmful for the kids and just all of college sports when they're transferring schools after every single season.
  11. 0:58 Not only does that impact their education trajectory, which can impact their future careers, their lives.
  12. 1:04 But I think there should be something put in place to limit how much you can transfer.
  13. 1:09 Um, I'm not saying it's a horrible idea if you're never gonna play, or maybe you're just not in a good system, but I think there could be a way to limit the amount of times players transfer.
  14. 1:18 And whether um that is just after you transfer one time, you can't get any more NIL deal.
  15. 1:24 So where a cup essentially a school can't just buy you off of another school and to where you're basically just turning college football or college sports into its own market like the NFL would be.
  16. 1:33 Um so maybe if you transfer, then you're saying, alright, I'm not gonna take any NIL money, but I'm still gonna change schools just because it's gonna be a better fit for me.
  17. 1:41 Um I don't know if that would work, or if you just limit someone to like one transfer.
  18. 1:46 Um, I mean, then the question arises is that fair for the player?
  19. 1:50 Because even if maybe their second school isn't a good fit either, but I think there's got to be a way to just limit how much people are transferring.
  20. 1:56 Um because that will help eliminate.
  21. 1:59 I mean, obviously, the funding is still gonna come in to get those five-star players.
  22. 2:02 But maybe if you say you can get that NAL money, you come to your school, but maybe if you want to transfer, you don't get you can't just get bought out by another school like UCLA did with Tennessee's quarterback.
  23. 2:12 Um, maybe that would solve the problem.
  24. 2:14 But I don't know.
  25. 2:14 Let me let me know what you guys think about that.
