US New Immigration Advertisement
Claims and stances

- 0:00 Yeah, gangs, these certainly are some um very interesting advertisements to be to be running.
- 0:07 You know, it really shows where we're at as a country right now with our stances on this.
- 0:13 Um, two things that I wanted to say is you mentioned how you weren't sure about the international advertisements.
- 0:21 And my first thought was honestly the international advertisements might be a little more effective.
- 0:29 Um, if uh let's say a mother of an immigrant um, say her son's working in the states and sending her money back to support their family, if they're already terrified that he's gonna get arrested, have a criminal record, never be able to immigrate legally and face all these repercussions, and they live that worry out day to day that ICE is gonna, you know, ruin his life and send him home and strip them of everything.
- 1:00 I could see how a mother would see that advertisement and encourage their son to say, hey, wrap everything up, get your affairs in order, take your money that they're paying you to come back home and hop on this flight and come home and come, you know, we'll we'll keep waiting in the line to do it the right way.
- 1:19 But I think uh contacting the support networks of the people that are here illegally, um, I mean, those are the people they're here for.
- 1:28 So, you know, if if they see these advertisements and feel compelled to tell these people to come back home, I think that could be a very effective um method.
- 1:38 Um also, you know, that it you also mentioned how the importance of this was to reserve our taxpayer dollars for our domestic issues.
- 1:51 And I'm not saying this is my stance um necessarily on this, but I think others might argue that let's say it costs $4,000.
- 2:01 You know, I don't know what they're paying them, I don't know what kind of accommodations they're getting them.
- 2:05 Say it costs $4,000 for the US government to abide by what they're saying they're gonna do and the port them the right way.
- 2:12 If somebody worked in America for 20 years and didn't pay taxes and you know, drove on our roads and used our facilities that we all pay taxes for and um appreciated the freedoms that America allows through our taxpayer dollars, they're gaining a substantial amount more in using our taxpayer dollars and not paying into them.
- 2:38 Whereas if we could just go ahead and pay a $4,000 uh fee, you know, to get them back to their country um the right way and with a little bit of change in their pocket for doing it like that, I think it would pay itself off over time in the eyes of um the people who are making these policies.
- 2:57 But yeah, definitely very interesting.
