- 0:00 The 100% tariffs on China are a very necessary and bold move to not only restore fairness and national security in our trade relationship, because for far too long China has manipulated our trade, stolen our intellectual property, and dominated um critical supply chains that we should be dominating globally.
- 0:22 That includes rare earth materials and and all just all at the American expense.
- 0:28 And so these terrorists are not a punishment for Americans in a sense, they're basically protection.
- 0:36 And they force companies to reconsider a dangerous reliance on geopolitical adversity and encourage them to bring manufacturing and American jobs back to where they belong, and we can even see that with companies like Hyundai bringing billions of dollars into the into the US and Nvidia.
- 0:56 And while there might not be um temporary adjustments in prices, the long-term benefit is stronger, um and more in a more independent economy and free from Chinese leverage.
- 1:09 They l have so much leverage on us.
- 1:11 So this is about putting America first and safeguarding our economic policies and national sovereignty.
- 1:17 Um so this leads me to ask, so is the goal of national security and supply chain independence worth the short-term economic disruption, just how we just saw?
