- 0:00 What's up, AM?
- 0:01 I think this is a really interesting topic, um, like climate change in the economy.
- 0:05 And I I think you have really good points um pertaining to people with creating jobs and losing jobs.
- 0:13 But I do think that we also have to look into um, you know, like the sa the sustainability of long-term green um energy.
- 0:21 And I will say, like, I think in general, I think transitioning to more green energy is a good thing.
- 0:28 I think it's uh something that we need to do more, we need to take care of our environment of the world that we are um living in.
- 0:34 But I will say um there's a study that found that the oil for um wind turbines to continuously make it be able to spin like the loot lubricant um uses just as much oil as if it was burned in in a power plant.
- 0:49 Um and another one would be um like the life cycle of these things.
- 0:53 It's just not fully sustainable.
- 0:55 I do agree that we need to kind of move that way, but I will say, like, if we're gonna argue for um, you know, this this green energy per se, we do have to take into uh uh account you know the upfront costs and the cost of maintenance and you know the fact that oil is still the main component of a lot of these um systems, you know, to manufacture um solar panels, you do use um some oil and you use some minerals that are hard to mine and are disruptive to the environment.
- 1:24 And so I think all this circles back to the point that you made about a balance, and I agree.
- 1:31 I think that there needs to be a balance between keeping jobs where they are, continuing that production, and also transitioning towards green energy and moving forward in that in that aspect.
- 1:42 But I think that we also need to keep in mind that these two industries are going to rely on each other for a really long time, and it's not just gonna be like the flip of a switch when we just transition fully.
- 1:53 Um and I do completely get your concern with you know putting people out of jobs, and I agree with you that um green energy is gonna create jobs in the manufacturing world and the maintenance world and the you know scientific world.
- 2:06 So overall, great topic.
- 2:08 I think you have some great points in there.
- 2:09 Just wanted to share kind of what I thought.
