James O'Byrne0:00 The Kashmir region, located in northwest India and northeast Pakistan, has been a highly disputed region between Hindus and Muslims for countless years.0:12 Recently, this past April, there's a terrorist attack by a Pakistani terrorist organization that targeted a resort town in the Indian side of the Kashmir region.0:22 The terrorists killed 26 Hindus and two Christians.0:27 And they killed them because they were infidels in the Quran.0:32 They call non-believers in of non people who don't believe in Islam as infidels.0:39 And they executed these people, and they said that they had to recite two verses from the Quran.0:45 And obviously, if you're a Hindu or a Christian, you're not familiar with the Quran, you're not familiar with its teachings.0:51 So they executed them on the spot.0:53 This prompted a mass massive retaliation from India and Pakistan.0:59 India, mind you, both of these countries have nuclear weapons.1:03 So this is, you know, a conflict that is could be really tense.1:08 And these two countries are very very tense neighbors.1:12 India fired missiles into Pakistan and Pakistan retaliated and also fired ballistic missiles.1:20 But what India did that Pakistan can't do was unable to defend themselves against was India controls 80% of Pakistan's water through the flow of rivers from the um Himalayas into the Kashmir region and into Pakistan.1:38 So this is this we're we're starting to see, especially the uh in this day and age, in this in this modern era, the weaponization of resources, the weaponization of water, the weaponization of food, and the weaponization of other resources that humans rely on.1:55 And Pakistan, mind you, have had years of bad really bad droughts, horrible crop yields, and the reduction in their water intake from India, causing massive massive issues to farmers and massive issues to their agriculture industry.2:13 So this conflict was quickly resolved in the later month, the later days of May and into early June.2:21 But the region still remains very tense, and the Hindus and the Muslims still uh despise one another and are looking for any excuse to attack one another again.
