Owen Patton0:00 I was inspired by a recent video I made a comment on about the MLS, and I just wanted to talk today about uh the USL.0:08 It's another American soccer league, and this league is way more underground and less known than the MLS, and they've actually introduced a new idea to create a promotion and relegation system between three tiers: the Division 1, Division II, and Division III of the USL.0:24 Now, doing this creates a league that operates just like the English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and all these top-tier leagues over in Europe.0:33 This matching this system I think can bring a lot of excitement and popularity to the USL and potentially even rival the MLS.0:41 With this uh relegation and promotion system in the USL, it creates these must-win games where teams don't want to go down, so even if they're towards the lower part of the table, they still have to fight hard at the end of the season to keep to keep them alive and stay up in that division that they're currently in.0:58 Um I think that this eventually, if this does happen, I think this could eventually take over the MLS and popularity, even though it's been the long-standing uh top soccer league in the United States.1:09 Um, I think just the system that Europe has creates more competition and brings in more money uh than the MLS because of their lack of relegation and promotion, and I think that it creates these games where these MLS teams don't really care and they're not really fighting because they know they're still going to be in the league the next year.1:28 Um I would love to see this happen, and I would really encourage the MLS to maybe get in on this with the USL and put the MLS as the very top, and then the USL one and then USL two and then USL three.1:42 Um, but that's just my thoughts, and I was curious of what y'all thought could happen with this MLS and USL combination, or if you think they should stay separate, or if you think the MLS should maybe adopt the same strategy as the USL.
