James O'Byrne0:00 The war in Russia and Ukraine, uh, I previously made a video about this uh about a month and month and a bit ago, but I'm following up with uh on this topic because I think it's really interesting to um discuss the current Russian military economy that um that's um that has been adopted by Vladimir Putin and the Russian regime.0:23 Um they've actually done a lot of uh very tactical moves in order to avoid and duck from the sanctions that have been imposed by the EU and uh America.0:33 So currently Russia's economy is actually doing better than anyone had expected.0:39 Um before the war, they short up on foreign currencies because they knew that the uh Russian ruple was going to collapse.0:47 Um so they needed to collateralize it with the US dollar and the euro.0:51 So the Russian central bank did just that, and the their currency was able to be uh their the collapse of their currency was able to be offset by these foreign currencies.1:01 Um additionally, Russia's manufacturing and GDP output has been has uh grown uh substantially, uh 3% in the in 2024, and uh they're on track to outpace projections by at least two to three percent uh with a five to six percent GDP growth this year.1:22 And that is really due to the manufacturing prowess that has been undertaken by by Bla Vladimir Putin.1:29 Um he's putting all his citizens to work, all the citizens are they're in a wartime economy.1:35 Everyone is being every every hand is being manufacturing artillery shells, bullets, uh missiles, uh drones, weapons, any anything you could possibly uh imagine.1:46 The the Russian uh manufacturing that is is outputting all these.1:52 And additionally, they're um using shadow tankers um, which are uh unmarked vessels to transport oil and natural gas to the likes of India and China for cheaper rates than they were uh previously sending to uh Europe.2:08 So Russia has done a uh honestly a very strategic job in um in you know um moving their economic uh and very basically shifting their entire economy.2:21 Um and this is the reason that you know Putin has no desire to end this war whatsoever, because the minute he you know he calls for a ceasefire or uh uh the minute he agrees to ceasefire, the uh military economy um collapses, and uh all the people who are working uh in these manufacturing jobs are no longer needed.2:40 So Putin is that's that's the main reason that Putin wants to keep this war going and uh uh the restructuring of the Russian economy now is is been great, but the the long-term implications are uh very high.
