Vansh Patel0:00 I just wanna talk a little bit about why I think bleeding control education should be mandatory across all schools in America.0:09 And to give a little background, um I was involved in a motor vehicle accident uh last year that uh concluded with the amputation of my left arm and if it weren't for a friend who had tied a tourniquet that day, then I would no longer be here.0:28 Um But I think bleeding control is such an essential tool that is so often overlooked and it's so it's it's very simple.0:38 Um in about a 45 minute class, you can cover all the necessities it takes to teach effective bleeding control measures, and I think it's something that is essential um everywhere.0:53 Uh I especially teach a program where I travel across rural South Georgia teaching uh tourniquet safety, and I really target rural communities because I think they're the most medically underserved and distant because as EMS may not be able to get there in time if a bystander were to be able to that could potentially make a difference in someone's life, and I think also that's applicable in a big city.1:23 I think with traffic on the rise, um for EMS to make it to a destination, I think there's often not that much time.1:32 I think with arterial bleeds you have less than about two minutes, and for EMS to arrive on scene that quickly uh doesn't always happen.1:42 So I think a bystander uh having that background can potentially influence a um completely turnaround someone's life.1:52 I mean it's just it's so essential to know and uh I think it should be taught everywhere.1:59 But uh, yeah, just let me know what you guys think.
