  1. 0:00 Having also grown up in the South, you know, the first time everybody gets a new diesel truck, the first thing that you ask is when are you gonna delete this?
  2. 0:09 Um and obviously there is a you know, there under the Clean Air Act, there is regulations.
  3. 0:16 There is a $5,000 fine for non-compliant vehicles, but as you said, I mean, the money saved on $120,000 truck, if you delete it the first day you get it, um, it's gonna be a lot, it's gonna far outweigh the $5,000 potential fine that you would be paying.
  4. 0:33 Um and you know, I'm not sure, I've never heard of the actual environmental effects.
  5. 0:39 You know, I don't know the actual differences between the two.
  6. 0:42 Um, and I also know that my friends and their fathers are gonna continue to delete their diesel engines until um regulations are upped.
  7. 0:53 But yeah, I it it's um it's it's a weird area because the effects are kind of unknown, and it's though it's um unknown to me at least, I'm sure they're known to others, but uh they were also unknown to my friends.
  8. 1:06 Everybody just knows deleting a truck is gonna save you money, and it's the first thing you do when you get it.
  9. 1:11 Um so I you know, if something's ever gonna change, which I doubt it will, just because these old farmers that only ride around in the country and they get pulled over by a guy they went to high school with, and he just lets them on down the road, you know, it doesn't it doesn't seem like anything's gonna change for a long time.
  10. 1:28 And I hope, you know, that if they do make a change, um they maybe provide some sort of um additional relief to these engines that experience these issues from running um diesel exhaust fluid and trying to upkeep their environmental impact.
  11. 1:49 So I think that would probably be the only way to get some of these, like I said, old farmers who don't do anything ride around on dirt roads and check the rain gauges and hold trailers to really abide by any of these regulations.
  12. 2:02 So, you know, it is unknown and it's it's so unknown because nobody really cares, they're just gonna delete it.
  13. 2:09 Um, at least in in rural areas of the south, like where you and I both grew up.
