Casey Comerford0:00 I was watching the most recent segment of Sixty Minutes recently.0:04 Um was highlighted by an interview um with CEO of BlackRock uh Larry Fink.0:12 And he was mentioning how both himself as well as the Trump administration are totally in favor of allowing the public to invest in private company private corporations, companies, startup companies, um, which they currently can't do.0:28 And I just think that um, you know, I was thinking if the Trump administration is in favor of this and that actually happened, how drastic of an impact that would have on the market as well as people in general.0:38 I mean, right now, pe like in a capitalist investing, we can only really invest as a public in you know, public corporations, whereas these hedge funds and people of power, um corporations, big corporations, are able to invest in these private companies and these startups.0:55 And if you look at the returns off those, um, they are significant.0:59 I mean, I think if you're looking at the public being being able to invest um in, say, these startup companies, especially in the tech age with how many um AI and technology startups are coming out.1:11 You know, the returns from investing those, they're they are more risky because it could flop.1:15 However, if you have a diverse portfolio and you invest in enough of these startups, especially tech companies, these returns will be far greater than what you're currently seeing out of um retirement funds, um, stuff like that.1:28 So this could revolutionize the investment world, the market for the the general public of America.1:35 Um and in a time right now where, you know, stock exchange and all that is um, you know, under a lot of change and you know, uncertainty.1:46 Um I think it would be very interesting um to see how opening up private companies and startup companies for investment would change the economy, as well as for the startups who would just get an inflow of even more investment um than they do currently.2:01 So it's definitely an interesting topic.2:02 Let me know what y'all think.
Vansh Patel0:00 Casey, I think you brought up an excellent topic of how the investment into private companies and startups could revolutionize the market for most citizens.0:11 I mean the as you mentioned, the returns are significantly larger.0:16 And while the risk may be there, uh I still think that the risk to uh reward ratio is better in favor of most people here.0:30 I think this could add new markets.0:32 Uh I think it'll revolutionize the game.0:34 Uh primarily what I was thinking on this topic actually as a student in science, uh, this could revolutionize what some companies are able to do and some of the ideas that are able to be generated.0:48 I mean, I think the number one reason most people withhold from starting business or uh following through with their idea of some sort is obviously funding.1:00 I think funding holds back inventors, it holds back generational in uh inventions from being made.1:09 And I think with the allowance of investments into startups and private companies, I think most people are brilliant students who have these ideas that are wanting to take that chance and turn them into something tangible.1:27 I think this would be their chance to do that.1:30 I think the investments of not only larger corporations but just average people uh would really turn around their trajectory and make them far more widespread than they would ever be able to.1:45 Uh instead of getting in the spotlight of only a larger company, I think they could reach out to more just average civilians.1:55 And I think with that change, there's gonna be a lot more companies that are coming into the market that are gonna have these booms that you saw in the early 2000s, such as Netflix, uh similar companies to those who rose to feats that are just unmatched uh Amazon obviously.2:17 And I think we're gonna see that again.2:18 I think although we're in late stage capitalism here, I think with that allowance, I think there's still gonna be some unmatched uh companies that are gonna come out from this that are gonna produce results that unlike we've ever seen before and can potentially revolutionize the market.
