  1. 0:00 Casey, I think you brought up a very valid point on the dangers of exposure to social media of minors currently.
  2. 0:08 And I think it's become a real issue.
  3. 0:11 It's become almost an epidemic per se.
  4. 0:13 I think there's really two sides of it.
  5. 0:16 I think on one hand, some exposure to social media is beneficial.
  6. 0:20 I think it's a very efficient form of let's say communication, group involvement.
  7. 0:27 I think it allows for many kids to feel a self a sense of belonging in a way and just helps them stay on current topics and just things to talk about on what's going on in the world.
  8. 0:41 And along with that is another side is the dangers of social media.
  9. 0:47 I think the replacement of social interaction has become very dangerous.
  10. 0:54 Most people are transitioning to digital conversation rather than face-to-face.
  11. 1:00 And I think that's gonna pose some severe issues in the nearby future.
  12. 1:04 I think it already has on the mental health of many children across the US.
  13. 1:10 And along with that is just overexposure to certain topics on social media.
  14. 1:17 I remember when I was younger growing up, I I did watch a lot of YouTube, but I primarily watched informational topics, do perfect, a couple entertainment sources that were always family friendly, and I really never had access to anything else.
  15. 1:34 But nowadays people are getting so comfortable posting on social media that they post their entire lives and don't realize that there are kids on these apps that have access to their content.
  16. 1:46 And I think just the overexposure of some of these topics is really causing harm to some of these kids, and it's really become detrimental to the health of our kids in in this country.
  17. 1:59 So I think that's something that needs to change.
