- 0:00 Yeah, Davidson, that's a very interesting topic.
- 0:03 I do think the government needs to have some sort of intervention or regulation, but only when it comes to just making sure that you know these companies and whoever's you know uh pouring money into and developing these AI um models is doing so in an ethical manner and making sure they're not using the AI essentially to harm other people or the country um or even other countries for that matter.
- 0:29 Um and essentially that I think that's all that the government needs to regulate.
- 0:33 And how they do that is tough because you could have much smaller companies that might fly under the radar when it comes to AI and these private startups that are I mean, everyone's one chopping at the bit to dive into you know this AI development, because this is you know could be the next gold mine for America and the world.
- 0:50 Um and obviously as a government you want to support that, you know, you want to support these businesses to grow using AI as that would be a big big hit for the economy, um, stock market, all that stuff, which you know there's a lot of speculation around right now, especially in the United States.
- 1:05 Um so it is a tough, tough concept to say, but like AI is a great tool, but it can also be a great weapon.
- 1:13 Um and I would say 99.99% of the people developing this AI want to do it for you know for their own business um organization and development um or for education or health care, you know, the medical side of things, and it'll be a great tool.
- 1:30 So I don't know how the government steps in and just monitors just occasionally to make sure that these companies are using it ethically and not you know in a harmful manner.
- 1:39 Um but I mean if just a handful of of you know these developers are developing AI for harmful reasons, um, you know, that could be detrimental to people's lives, the country and uh as a whole.
- 1:53 Um so it's an and it's an interesting topic.
- 1:56 So you do want to have some sort of regulation without slowing down the development.
- 1:59 Um and what that is is gonna take a team of experts to figure out.
