- 0:00 Thomas, I think you brought up an excellent and prevalent issue.
- 0:04 So while it is a touchy subject, I will try not to emit any political values why I best answer your question.
- 0:14 For a little background, I'm the son of immigrants, uh parents, grandparents.
- 0:21 So I understand how the system works and how what it takes to get here.
- 0:26 Both my parents and grandparents worked through the legal system.
- 0:30 And while it wasn't the easiest, they worked hard and they did as much as they could to come here.
- 0:40 Whether it took five or ten years, they grinded it away in order to become legal citizens of the United States.
- 0:47 And at the end of the day, it was the best decision they ever made.
- 0:52 And I think with that, uh the issue on border control.
- 0:58 I think the borders need again, not trying to radiate any political views here, but I think border security and border control is a very necessary thing.
- 1:11 I think border control, we have one of the greatest countries, if not the greatest country in the world for a reason, and that's because of who we are and what we stand for.
- 1:22 Uh I think the immigration system was put into place to allow great people from all over to come over and benefit this country.
- 1:34 And I think having open borders leads to the harm of our country.
- 1:39 I think allowing anyone who wants to come in, whether it be criminals or rapists or who what it may be, uh, I think that does nothing but harm our country.
- 1:50 I think good people are willing to work through the system like they always have.
- 1:55 But recently with past presidential uh past presidents, we we've opened up the borders and we've seen what it's done.
- 2:06 We've let in criminals, we've let in uh gangs, we've let in countless uh harmful subjects.
- 2:13 I mean, border security is something that almost every other country has, and I don't see why it's as big of a topic as it is here.
- 2:26 Uh to be who we are as the greatest country in the world, we need to protect that in any way we can, and that if that means making a strict legal system and a tight border control, then that's what it takes to be that.
- 2:45 I mean some of the things that we offer here, the freedoms, the rights, are unmatched anywhere else.
- 2:52 And I think that's why we established the process of our immigration system.
- 2:59 And I know countless uh immigrants and kids of immigrants, and they grinded the same way uh that everyone else did, just because to enjoy the luxuries that this country has to offer.
- 3:16 So in my opinion, I would say border control and border security is a necessity to the welfare and just quality of our country as a whole.
