  1. 0:00 What's up, y'all?
  2. 0:01 As someone who uses social media a lot, I want to talk about the censorship that's happening in Europe on social media.
  3. 0:06 Uh for years, Europe has had laws about spreading inf misinformation and hate speech on social media, but lately it's turned into censorship.
  4. 0:15 For example, many in Europe are not pro-immigration, and sometimes their comments on it can be hateful.
  5. 0:22 However, some of them are just spreading their views and how they don't want too many immigrants in their country.
  6. 0:27 However, people have been getting arrested for posting stuff like this, leading to censorship.
  7. 0:33 I believe in free speech as you cannot criticize a country without being truthful.
  8. 0:38 And if you have to worry about what you can say and what you can't say, and if you'll be arrested for saying it, that is not free speech at all.
  9. 0:44 No matter if it stops hate speech or if it stops misinformation.
  10. 0:49 Because once they can stop that, they can kind of, you know, use that as an excuse to stop other stuff.
  11. 0:54 So while the law says you can get arrested for misinformation and hate speech, it's slowly being blanketed towards stopping the spread of information online.
  12. 1:04 As they can say, this is hate speech, you know, you don't want immigrants, you hate immigrants.
  13. 1:08 That's hate speech because you don't want immigrants, that means you hate them, which is not true.
  14. 1:12 And they can censor your posts and arrest you for your views.
  15. 1:16 So I think no matter what side you stand on politically, you should be able to express your views and you should be able to express them freely, because if you can't, that is censorship, and if this happens in America, that will breach our First Amendment right to free speech.
