  1. 0:00 It's really interesting to see how decisions are gonna be made within the FOMC.
  2. 0:07 Honestly, with with this government shutdown right now and the data blackout, there's no concrete or reliable data for the Fed to come up with data to back up their interest rate just decisions that are gonna be due in two weeks.
  3. 0:22 So this is really interesting to see um how they're gonna go about that because they're already basing their rates off of data that's not always 100% reliable.
  4. 0:34 Um so now with the government shutdown and even further data blackout, it's gonna be even harder for them to do their jobs because they don't know whether they're gonna have to pull down inflation a little bit or stimulate the economy, which are the two goals of the Fed.
  5. 0:47 So um it's gonna be interesting to see how it works and hopefully the government is back up and running before that decision must be made.
  6. 0:55 So yeah.

Thomas Freer

  1. 0:00 I totally agree, Luca.
  2. 0:02 And I think that this makes this the next time Jerome Powell addresses the public even more controversial as the controversy around the Fed and Donald Trump has been increasing recently.
  3. 0:19 I totally think that there's not gonna be a rate cut.
  4. 0:23 I think rates will remain the same, and I think Trump might continue to react negatively negatively to that decision.
  5. 0:32 But I I think that that'd be the fair, fair decision given these this data blackout.
  6. 0:39 And this just puts even more emphasis on getting the government back up and running again, uh ending the shutdown.
  7. 0:48 Cause it's almost like at this point Trump can not just Trump, but the Republicans, the Democrats come together, start the shutdown, and um it just hurts the Fed's decision making even more, and then that will cause Trump to put more pressure on the Fed if he doesn't agree with the decision.
  8. 1:07 Um so it's it's almost just a negative feedback loop now.
