Carl Dagher0:00 Alright, so today I want to talk about um a kind of recent topic and it has to do with the United States military and training other countries.0:11 I mean I made another video on international spending.0:15 Um this kind of ties into that, but has more political kind of implications.0:20 Um so the U US Air Force announced that Qatar is building an air base or an air force training base in Idaho.0:29 Um which I find quite interesting.0:33 I mean, in 2020, Joe Biden sold 35 F-15s to the Qatari Air Force.0:39 Um and recently the Qatari Air Force or Qatari government gifted Donald Trump a brand new jet.0:45 Um so there's a lot of interesting kind of exchanges going on here.0:50 However, one thing to note is Qatar once funded Al Qaeda and partially funded 9-11.1:00 They also housed Hamas high officials in the past two years during this conflict, and I I just can't really wrap my head around how we're allies with countries on two different sides of a conflict.1:17 I mean, I guess we're trying to play both sides of it being world power, but I'm kind of concerned where our interests lie.1:25 And you know, Qatar has vast access to oil resources and Israel has vast access to intelligence resources.1:33 So it's two different interests that kind of cater to two different needs.1:37 However, building a Qatari Air T Air Force training base on US soil, I think personally is a little too much.1:46 Um I guess one argument could be you don't want to give 35 fighter jets to this country and have them not know how to fly the planes.1:54 However, I don't personally think it's our responsibility to train foreign militaries, especially if they're aligning with organizations that pledge to do harm to the United States.2:10 So it's kind of a weird middle ground that uh the US is in right now, internationally.2:15 Um and I think we just really need to sort our interests out.2:19 I I don't think we should be playing both sides.2:20 That's kind of where you get bit in the butt.2:23 But at the end of the day, I mean Yeah, I I guess they're the government can can do whatever it wants, and then we just kinda have to accept it.2:34 And and m most people don't really understand what's going on internationally, so that's why I feel like there isn't as much outrage as domestic issues.2:42 So I think we should kind of raise awareness on on on little things like this, like building foreign air force bases in our own country and and kind of who the people we really are dealing with.2:54 Um
