- 0:00 So I remember the first time I had seen um a park that was an old rail um corridor converted into a new park and it was in Valencia, Spain.
- 0:11 I was there with my family, and we walked the park for probably two miles and it spilled out into the um aquarium and museum area, and it was a really beautiful park.
- 0:20 And um, you know, then I moved to Atlanta and I see the belt line, and the same thing's happening, and I go visit my girlfriend in Dallas, um, and the Katy Trail is also an old rail corridor that's being repurposed towards the park.
- 0:32 Um, also the high line in New York.
- 0:35 Um, so these old rail corridors, which obviously were the the crux of why these cities were built in the first place, um, they're getting repurposed as parks.
- 0:44 And it's really interesting to see it happening all across the world as well.
- 0:48 Um, and that seems to be the trend in urban development and where things are going.
- 0:53 So something I'm kind of I've been thinking about recently is what's the next um step?
- 0:59 You know, like what's the new repurposement?
- 1:02 Is it old?
- 1:03 Um, like quarries.
- 1:05 Um, you know, what they could be I you know, I have no idea, but this rail corridor and turning them into parks is obviously called like wildfire, and it's something that cities are really um proud of, and it's but it's brought a lot of attention to a lot of cities.
- 1:22 So um, yeah, I wonder if other cities are, you know, looking at these ideas and seeing them work so well and wanting to copy them, but I'm really thinking of what the next um urban mass repurposement would be.
- 1:36 Um, yeah, what do you guys think?
- 1:38 Is there any like I don't know, old factories or something, or maybe an old industry that we no longer pursue that you know this buildings could get reused for because our city's landscapes are changing drastically.
- 1:50 Um yeah, what do y'all think?
