- 0:00 BYD is the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, and you may not have heard of them.
- 0:06 Uh, and here's why.
- 0:07 Uh so we've got, as you all probably know, we've got competing tariffs between us and China, something like a hundred percent on goods.
- 0:16 Um, and so this is currently keeping BYD, which is China's EV manufacturer and the biggest in the world.
- 0:23 It's keeping their vehicles out of our country.
- 0:25 Um, and a little bit more on those.
- 0:27 So in the past, China was kind of making low-quality, bad electric vehicles.
- 0:34 Uh, and then they kind of figured out that with government subsidization, they can really boom their EV market and make it one of their biggest kind of uh exports, and they sell them all throughout Europe and Asia.
- 0:47 Um, and so what we're doing in the US right now is allowing Tesla kind of to have a big portion of the EV market, although it's not as big as it used to be.
- 0:56 And we're really protecting our internal combustion engine vehicle market by keeping BYD out because BYD is able to create very high-quality electric vehicles now with their government's money.
- 1:09 Um, and they're allowed they're able to sell them for pretty cheap.
- 1:11 And so if these hit the US market, it it would mean a lot of bad things for uh the Fords and the US kind of macho gas vehicles.
