  1. 0:01 So nowadays I feel like Americans are more divided than they've ever been.
  2. 0:06 Um people argue about politics on social media at work, literally anywhere they go.
  3. 0:10 It's almost like it's 24-7.
  4. 0:12 We're always seeing somebody post something, somebody post something else, and um it's it's honestly like it's getting to an extreme point where it's like once either somebody's on the very far left side or very far right side, um, and there's not even like a middle ground anymore where people can still respect one another and come to a common consensus that they have differing views and beliefs, but they still want the best for this country.
  5. 0:37 Um I think a lot of this pretty much comes from how we get our news, honestly.
  6. 0:41 Many people only follow the sources that already agree with what their views are, and social media algorithms make it even worse by showing us, you know, more of what we like, more of our own same opinions.
  7. 0:52 That's pretty much it creates like a an echo chamber of a sort.
  8. 0:56 We stop listening to what's actually going on along with the people who just think differently than us.
  9. 1:03 Um I think that's a big issue.
  10. 1:05 I think we have to we don't have to agree on everything, but we should be able to talk to one another without necessarily like hating one another.
  11. 1:13 Um it's like politics shouldn't be about solving it shouldn't be it should be about solving problems together.
  12. 1:20 It shouldn't be trying to um prove whether or not somebody's right or wrong.
  13. 1:25 It should be working together, coming to a common consensus, working towards a shared goal.

  1. 0:00 I totally agree.
  2. 0:01 Um, and that's why I think like apps like these can be so powerful.
  3. 0:06 But um we we do need to voice our opinions more, talk together, and um that's why I think that regardless of what political side you think, the assassination of Charlie Kirk was so devastating um just to our current climate because you know at the end of the day, most a lot of people don't agree with his beliefs, but he was actively trying to debate people fairly in an open space where everyone can hear and not putting people down or you know yelling at other people because they think differently from him, and almost every person that talked to him thought differently from him, and he was willing to go out of his way to talk to them.
  4. 0:49 So seeing someone like that um murdered is just horrible.
  5. 0:55 And I think we just need to do a better job as Americans and come together uh no matter what side you're on.
