- 0:00 Yeah, Luca, just to back off that, um, what I've kind of been seeing ever since his firing is a lot of um, you know, stuff coming out from the players, uh, you know, backing up Franklin, um, you know, saying they're gonna miss him.
- 0:14 And I think that's the one thing that kind of gets lost in everything.
- 0:17 I mean, obviously college football has become a business that continues to grow more and more each year.
- 0:21 Um but I think coach firings in college should be a little bit different than in the NFL, say, where it is a pure business.
- 0:30 Um because at the end of the day, not only is it obviously a roles coach to, you know, put the best team out there, win games, which Franklin wasn't doing the best job at, but these coaches can have a, you know, drastic impact on, you know, these young men's lives and their futures.
- 0:47 And I think what Franklin did do a good job at is a lot of players you see love him and they're grateful for him building relationships with them.
- 0:54 And I don't know, I I guess I'm just thinking like, will it really make that much of a difference of whether Franklin got fired now versus say with one or two weeks left in the season to where you let him basically figure out finish out the year, um, or you just tell him, you know, to announce maybe he's resigning.
- 1:12 I mean, obviously that would just decrease team morale for future games, but um I think you are taking him away from that opportunity to, you know, continue to build those relationships with those kids.
- 1:23 So um I don't know, it's definitely interesting.
- 1:26 Um Penn State's just it's all seems like they've always been in a weird spot um when it comes to being, you know, one of the top teams in people's minds, but never really getting that big win.
- 1:36 And whether that is down to coaching or not, um, you know, I guess we'll see in the future.
- 1:40 So
