  1. 0:00 Carl, that's a great topic.
  2. 0:02 I actually have spent time in Europe as well, and I've and I noticed that.
  3. 0:06 Um I also have a personal experience with the tipping culture.
  4. 0:10 So a couple of my friends worked at Smoothie King, um, which is a big corporation, and on their thing when they're doing the order and everything, it asks the customer if they want a tip.
  5. 0:21 But you know what actually happened was the workers never saw a single dollar of that tip.
  6. 0:27 So that's another issue that I think these come or that is wrong with tipping culture, is a lot of times you're being misled about where the money is actually gonna go.
  7. 0:35 So you think you're tipping this nice young man that's helping you order your smoothie, but in reality, he doesn't see a single dime of that money.
  8. 0:43 And then another example would be my sister, she worked um as like a like a barista and like a coffee shop, and she had to pass a tip test before she received any tips.
  9. 0:53 So this is also kind of a way to where these companies just basically steal the tips from their um employees, and then also um make it really difficult to the point where employees are working all these shifts, but then they also aren't passing the test.
  10. 1:10 So all those tips just aren't getting used or given to the employee.
  11. 1:15 And then another thing that I noticed is that sometimes now a lot of these companies are changing the tipping like amounts.
  12. 1:23 So there's like two things that they're doing.
  13. 1:24 First, they have the lowest amount that you can tip by just clipping clicking a button, being like 25%.
  14. 1:29 So it goes like 25, 30, 35, and that's I think that's ridiculous.
  15. 1:33 A.
  16. 1:33 And then B, I've done the math on some of the tipping.
  17. 1:37 Like I I remember like the percentage of what it said in the dollar amount but below it, like let's say the the total price of the thing was ten dollars, then says the button says 15%, but then below it, it says like 250, and then it adds the 250 instead of actually 15%.
  18. 1:52 So that's another thing that they're doing that's misleading customers, and it I think it's just ridiculous at this point.
  19. 1:58 I think tips should be for rewarding real work that is hard worked and earned.
